Sequoyah Volunteer Fire Department

Sequoyah Volunteer Fire Department was chartered as a Not-For-Profit Corporation in 1985 to provide, and to promote the provision of fire protection in the Sequoyah area. Two stations and a total of seven apparatus cover approximately fourteen square miles, including part of the Dallas and New Salem communities and approximately 750 homes. We provide emergency and non-emergency services such as Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical Services through our First Responder program, Hazardous Materials First Responder Awareness, Non-Emergency Public Assists and Public Education. Currently we are rated with the Insurance Services Organization as a Class Nine, but we are always working on upgrading our services.

We receive revenue generally from three resources. Primarily, our budget is based upon donations from local businesses and residents. However, we do receive some funds from County and State disbursements and grants. Visit our frequently asked questions page for more information.
